The Fresno A's Collegiate team opened their season on Friday, with an away contest against the Humboldt B-52 Bombers at Bomber Field. The A's spoiled the Bombers' opening day with an impressive road victory.
Kaleb White was able to work out of trouble on the mound. He was able to keep the hitters off balance all day. He was able to work out of trouble multiple times, and ended the day as the winning pitcher. He gave up one run over 5 innings. In the top of the 6th, with the A's trailing 1-0, Will Pettener smoked a 2 RBI double to the right-center field gap to score Hepp and Parks. He would launch another double off the wall in the top of the 9th. Austen Dubriel hit a triple down the right field line, Parks had a pair of hits, Hepp was good with the bat and the glove, Robinson had an RBI single in the 9th, and Blackwell was lights out for 3 innings of relief. The Fresno A's are now 1-0 and will play the B-52's again in the second game of this 3 game series tomorrow at 5:30.
